Election 2024: Winner Projected For PA's 13th US Congressional District

Election Day 2024 is in the books, and Pennsylvanians have chosen their next representatives in Congress, according to multiple outlets' projections based on unofficial results.

In the commonwealth’s 13th congressional district race, John Joyce defeated Beth Farnham for the House seat representing portions of the Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry, and Somerset counties, the AP projects.

The incumbent was leading his democratic party opponent by a margin of 76.2% to 23.8%, with 67% of the vote in as of 11 p.m., according to the PA Department of State. 

The 67-year-old Joyce has represented the district since 2018.

Among his top issues, according to Ballotpedia, were protecting the gun owners' rights, the unborn, and national security.

The Altoona native earned his BS from Penn State University and his MD from Temple University. He completed his medical residency in internal medicine and dermatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
